Depending on the grade of the concussion here are some of the symptoms. Feeling light headed and dizzy ...wanting to sleep (Bad sign!) ...confusion, cannot answer simple questions ...vomits ...ringing in the ears ...unable to follow a light/pen movement with their eyes. They almost skip or bounce as you try to follow.
Concussions are common but serious. If you still show symptoms DO NOT participate in contact sports, this could cause a second impact syndrome and can be fatal. Go to the doctor even if its a grade 1 concussion. I have had a concussion. you get a serious headache and can barley move without pain and being sick. its very painful so be careful. also go to the ER ASAP.
A Concussion (from the Latin concussus, meaning the action of striking together, and concutere, meaning to shank violently) is a form of brain injury. A concussion can be mild to serious; another term for concussion is a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). A concussion can be the result of being hit or hitting the head, as well as a serious jolt, such as that which happens with a whiplash. The human brain is surrounded by fluid, and when a person is hit in the head or hits their head, the brain moves forcibly and is shaken within the skull, back and forth whereby causing the injury; the fluid around the brain offers little cushioning or protection from this movement.
The resulting concussion, head injury, can vary from person to person; it can be mild to serious. A concussion can cause headaches, which can be mild to serious; it can cause ringing in the ears; balance issues; nausea and vomiting; blurred vision; it can effect ones concentration and memory. It can cause irritability and other emotional changes. I can cause surface bruising of the face and head, as well as bruising brain the brain itself; it can also cause serious bleeding inside the brain, even brain swelling.
Multiple concussions can lead to Post-Concussive Syndrome (PCS); but in addition to the repetitive accidents and injuries which can cause a concussion; damage can also result in those injuries, which happen while playing sports (boxing, football, Wrestling, care racing...). PCS can lead to a permanent brain injury; short and long term memory loss and confusion; movement disorders, including balance issues; psychological disorders, anxiety and depression; chronic headaches and migraines; visual impairment; chronic dizziness... There are some cases of PCS that are diagnosed after a single head injury; this diagnoses is given to those who have symptoms, which last for over 6 mounts.
Signs and symptoms of a concussion may include:
Some symptoms of concussions are not apparent until hours or days later. They include:
A concussion can occur if direct force is applied to the head causing the brain to be shaken violently within the skull. As a result of this "shake-up" the brain may temporarily lose or decrease its mental and physiological capacity. Possible complications of concussion include cerebral compression as well as skull fractures.
Signs and symptoms of a concussion may include the following:
- Unconsciousness or a decreased Glasgow Coma Score (GCS).
- Loss of short term memory and confusion.
- Nausea and vomiting
- Blurred vision and unsteady when asked to stand up.
- Unresponsive, unequal or dilated pupils indicate the possibility of a concussion or other traumatic brain injury.
Always obtain the mechanism of injury and history to ensure a correct diagnosis can be made. If direct force is involved to the head and the patient is confused and dizzy, one may suspect concussion. If, on the other hand, the dizziness and confusion spontaneously occurred with no known mechanism of injury, the cause if most likely a medical condition and not related to concussion.
If in doubt about the patient's condition, seek medical aid.
You probably don't have a concussion because if you did it would be a swollen not on your head and you would have to report to a doctor. You probably have damaged some other part of the brain, but it would be best to go to a doctor and get a cat scan.
The most common symptoms of a concussion are headache or a feeling of pressure in the head, temporary loss of consciousness, confusion, feeling as if in a fog, amnesia, dizziness, ringing in the nauseous or vomiting, and fatigue.
Headache, Sleepiness, Nausea, Vomiting Are Just A Few....
u will get sleepy but don't go to sleep go see a doctor
A contusion may appear as a bruise beneath the skin or may appear only on imaging tests; an internal wound may also generate symptoms such as weakness, perspiration, and pain
Concussion may be present without symptoms, for detecting cognitive impairment and concussions.
The symptoms of concussion are dizziness and nausea (feeling like you might throw up) and a sore head. However it is possible to have delayed concussion which means that the injury has happened but you don't get the symptoms until later. This can be a problem if you have gone home alone thinking that you are OK and the symptoms come on when there is no-one around to get you to hospital.

Some symptoms of a concussion that you should be aware of are: headache, temporary loss of consciousness, dizziness, ringing in the ears, nausea or vomiting, confusion or slurred speech. If you have had any kind of injury to the head or suspect you may have a concussion, please visit your doctor or walk-in-clinic.
Symptoms of concussion include drowsyness and vomiting, headache and fainting. Symptoms of a spinal cord injury include numbness of the body, pins and needles, weakness or loss of function in the limbs, reduced respiratory capacity and vomiting.
No one exactly knows since he got a concussion and is reacting to symptoms! I hope I answered your question!!
Symptoms of a severe concussion, go see a doctor immediately.
If he gets dizzy, then that might be a clue. Or maybe headaches. Best to go to the doctors to be on the safe side. He might get something more than just a concussion!
A second concussion before full recovery from the first can result in more severe symptoms or prolonged time to recovery.A second concussion before full recovery from the first can result in more severe symptoms or prolonged time to recovery
yeah because if you leave a concussion untreated afterwards in life you could die if you just tap on your head softly
in some cases concussion will heal.In cases of greater severity, the concussion will be permanently damaging.Even if the head is struck 40 or 50 years after the concussion was caused, death may esult in amild impact. sincerely, Robert Hocker
It affects the way you react to things... for instance if you get a concussion and you still have "concussion like symptoms" and if you get hit again and get another concussion that's some serious brain damage... they are trying to help keep everyone safe in the sports industry.
