What are the advantages of space probes?

Due to the dust in the earth's atmosphere, the vision of a telescope on earth will be poorer. But space telescopes can observe cosmos clearly due to the absence of dust or any other such particles.

The biggest disadvantage to using robots is that they cannot fix themselves, and can only do the jobs that they are pre-programmed to do. They have no initiative. People can react to changing conditions, and make the most of brief opportunities.

Because on earth the atmosphere blocks some of the light from the universe or morphs it somehow. In space you do not have that problem. Telescopes on earth however now have technology which filters the earths atmosphere but are usually used for finding asteroids or comets and plain images of stars just to map them.

Space telescopes are used to make the beautiful images you see of galaxies and nebulae but because the current location of the space telescope matters they are used less for scientific investigations which require the precise calculations and data earth telescopes give but more for visual investigations of how stars are created etc.
