Technically, one could argue that there are so such things as bad character traits, as humans have developed intricate psychological traits through 200,000 years of evolution, each with their own purpose. However, many of these traits are outdated, as humans are literally discovering technologies that basically nullify the need for some personality traits.
TANGENT ALERT! A physical manifestation of this principle is obesity. Early humans needed to store as much food as possible and eat as many lipids (fats) and sugars, as the environment was extremely unpredictable and because of this, food supply was often cut off for long periods of time. Humans now have steady access to food and do not need to run to catch it- we crave fats and sugars because they were once a rarity. However, with the advent of couches, TV, supermarkets and the internet, humans have no need to store food. Unfortunately, our bodies have not yet realised this, and continue urging us to consume as much fat and sugar as possible.
Anyways, the point is that every emotion, every personality trait is a tool that we humans use in certain situations. For instance anger is a common emotion that humans display when threatened or annoyed. Anger enables us to appear intimidating, and thus gives us the ability to scare "predators" away.
With this said, society has involuntarily learned to frown upon certain behaviors that are considered evolutionarily negated. Three examples of this are
-Dishonesty
-Racism

According to the essay "The Educated Filipino" by Francisco Benitez, the three qualities of an educated Filipino are the ability to think and express oneself clearly, the possession of a firm character founded on values, and an understanding and appreciation of one's culture and heritage.
It is important to recognize that generalizing negative qualities about any group of people is unfair and inaccurate. Filipinos, like any other nationality, have individuals with diverse personalities and characteristics. It would be unjust to attribute negative qualities to an entire population based on individual experiences or stereotypes.
