is someone not doing their homework? I'll give it a shot:

The advantages to the survey method are that you appeal to a larger audience. More people are willing to sit down and discuss their opinions rather than going through an actual testing demonstration. The disadvantage to this is that you have a more biased group. You aren't learning by trial and error.

The advantages to test marketing are that you have some people who are going to be more honest while doing this, rather than doing a survey. You see people's reactions and that may spark some more ideas for the product. The downfall to this is that some people may become hesitant and you're statistics may become flawed.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of internal research?

Advantage: AgilityWorking with research firms requires somewhat rigid guidelines and research requirements. Companies using an internal marketing research department obtain built-in agility to modify research during the course of the investigation. Internal marketing teams can also move at the pace set by business needs.Advantage: ExpensesHiring external firms for marketing research may be more expensive than using corporate employees. Costs, expenses and resources can be tightly monitored and controlled when an in-house staff conducts investigations. Advantage: CustomizationInternal employees tap product, development and support staff for in-depth product knowledge, questions and advice. This resource advantage allows internal marketing teams to customize and maximize research efforts. For example, marketing staff could discuss product feature options with engineering staff to help craft a survey to establish customer product preferences for future models.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of traverse surveying?

Advantages of Traverse Surveying: Traverse surveying creates a closed loop, which confirms the accuracy of the survey. It is suitable for surveying large areas with a minimum of time and effort. This method can be used for both plane and geodetic surveying. It is easy to calculate the coordinates and areas by using the traverse surveying method. Disadvantages of Traverse Surveying: The accuracy of the survey is dependent upon the accuracy of the instruments used for the measurements. This method requires a long base line which is not always available in certain circumstances. Traverse surveying is not suitable for rough terrain as measurements can be affected by uneven ground. It is difficult to locate the exact points when the measurements are taken from a long distance.

What are advantages and disadvantages of sampling as a method of data collection?

The main advantages are that a survey is quick and easy. If well carried out, you can get reliable results more quickly and cheaper. Another major advantage is that it is not destructive: if, for example a baker were to check how well each of his cakes has cooked, then he would have no whole cakes left to sell! The disadvantages with surveys are that the result, no matter how good, will only be an estimate. And you will only get a good estimate if the survey is well designed. Sometimes the exact answer is required. Also, if collecting information about a very rare characteristic, the survey proportion will need to be very large and, in such cases, the advantage of quick and cheap may be outweighed by less reliable results.
