The basic components common to almost every bicycle are the frame (the 'body' of the bike), wheels, handlebars, pedals, brakes, and drivetrain, which consists of the chain, crank (the legs that the pedals are attached to), front and rear derailleurs which line the chain up with whatever gear you are in, and the rear gear cog.
If you want a detailed breakdown of a bicycle and all of its componentry, I would recommend buying the Haynes Bicycle Book. This is something of a staple for DIY bicycle mechanics, and covers nearly every system and style that's been tried on a bike in the last half century, with ample use of step-by-step photographs. Just as a precaution, the book is admittedly somewhat dense - if you're not too mechanically savvy, you might find yourself a bit in over your head at first.

∙ 12y agoI'm not really sure what this question means, there are hundreds and thousands of individual nuts and bolts, parts of metal, plastic & rubber. I'm assuming you don't want a comprehensive list of all of those.
Assuming a bike similar to mine (liquid cooled, fuel injected, four cylinder, four-stroke, fully faired), then the MAJOR parts, in no particular order, are as follows:
Engine (obviously)
Starter motor
Transmission
Chain & Sprockets
Front and rear wheel
Frame (chassis)
Swingarm
Suspension (rear shock & front forks)
Fuel tank
Exhaust system
Radiator & pump
Battery and electrical system
Various fairing and other plastics
Brakes and discs
Handle bars and controls
I think that's pretty much the main parts.
