Electrons and Protons and Neurons make up an atom. An atom can form a compound or molecule when it reacts chemically with another atom. It is the outer layers' valence electrons which cause hte reaction.
Particles are the building blocks of nature. A particle is an indivisible unit of mass, that has characteristics and interactions that make it function as a part of the whole. Presently, in the standard model, the fundamental particles are the electron, the up quark, and the down quark. The up and down quarks bind together in triplets to form protons (two up quarks and one down quark) and neutrons (one up quark and two down quarks). There are other particles, including leptons, mesons, and boson, that carry force between the main particles, creating the strong nuclear force, the electromagnetic force, the weak nuclear force, and gravity.

The three most commonly referred to subatomic particles are the proton, the neutron, and the electron. Protons and neutrons are the subatomic particles that reside in the atomic nucleus. Electrons, however, are located outside of the nucleus.
Everything is made of subatomic particles.
When a mineral spontaneously decays into subatomic particles, it has this property
All subatomic particles may suffer changes (if you think to "changes", not to "charges").

Quantum mechanics is the branch of physics that deals with the motion of particles by their wave properties at the atomic and subatomic levels.
When they interact their properties change
