If you mean temporarily leaving the Philippines, I can say it is because of the salary and job opportunities. If I'm not mistaken the usual maximum age for employment is 25 so many don't have any choice but work overseas.
If you mean leaving for good, I think it is mostly because they have relatives abroad that petitioned them.
Most overseas workers come back to the Philippines because they are more comfortable with life here.
