What are three reasons middle school students have academic failure?

There are more than just three reasons why middle school students have academic failure. They are also more complex then we can answer right here. For the sake of time and understanding, I'll give the top three reasons why students in middle school tend to fail.

1. Laziness. Students tend to get lazy as they get higher in grades. In fact, when you become a senior, you tend to get a thing called "Senioritis". Which is a complete slacking in your senior year that results in a lower GPA or worse not graduating.

2. Not Understanding course material. Some students may have understood the entire class for the entire year. However, some students may not have. Once a student begins to get behind in the course. (Such as Mathematics or Science) then they tend to do the first reason for failure in middle school. Become Lazy. Not understanding the material could be caused by alot of factors, but again for a general idea, attendance issues, generally not understanding, or a learning disability.

3. Peer Pressure, Social Standing, or Generally dislike for school. Some students are so into their social standing, such as popularity, that they could care less about school. School becomes a place to socialize instead of a learning institution. Also If a student is being pressured, harassed, bullied. They may not feel the excitement to come to school, hence reason #2 applies. If a student just doesn't feel school is for them they may not apply themselves. As where someone may apply them selves so much they burn themselves out around 11th/12th grade, they lose the interest in school, which prompts for Senioritis or dropping out completely.
