∙ 11y agoDefinitely in the lower-middle class. His mother was a college student, and her husband left her with a two-year old son to raise by herself. She later remarried, but she was still working her way up slowly in her profession and did not make a lot of money. Barack went to live with his grandparents, but they too were both working-class. Eventually, his grandmother got a good job and the family moved up to the middle class, but there is no evidence that growing up, young Barack was at all wealthy or in the upper class.
