Well, having hazel eyes myself I would say that green eyes are usually lighter than hazel eyes and more even. You have hazel eyes if you have yellow toned eyes or if you have a combination of green, grey or blue altogether but green is dominant. Alson if you have eyes that are brown in the middle and green on the outside then you have hazel eyes.

∙ 13y agoNo, hazel eyes are typically a mixture of brown and green and either color can be dominant. They can sometimes shift from amber/golden brown to dark golden green depending on the lighting. Hazel eyes do not contain any blue or gray, only brown, green and gold.

green eyes are green, they can be a grey-green, a dark green or a green with brown (forest green). Hazel eyes are light brown with a minimal green-ish/golden tinge around the edges of the eye, basically an eye that looks like a hazelnut.
However hazel eyes are a big misconception in modern western society to be a green and brown eye or any multi-coloured iris, i find this quite strange since the last time i saw a hazelnut, it didn't have any green, blue or grey in it

∙ 12y agoMy eyes are hazel with green and brown mixed together. When I am outside in bright sunlight they appear more green and lighter. However, when the ambient lighting is lower intensity my eyes appear more towards brown color. Fluorescent lighting also makes them appear more of a murky solid green color. A bright camera flash or very bright light directly at my eyes really shows the various designs in my eyes.
Hazel eyes can be very strange at times as far as what color they appear. Some people think my eyes are hazel while some others think they are light brown. My father had deep green eyes and my mother had brown eyes. I am very happy with my mysterious eys though. Some people have to buy contact lenses to get my color of eyes. Hope this helps.
