In 1977, Pizza Hut was acquired by PepsiCo, who later also bought KFC and Taco Bell. In 1997, the three restaurant chains were spun off into TriCon, and in 2002 joined with Long John Silver's and A&W Resturants to become Yum! Brands. So the answer is it never changed owners since 1977. The only thing was the names changed. But, there is some Pizza Huts that are operated by Restaurant Franchise Company. But, they answer to YUM! Brands.
