If your international dialing prefix is 00, it is a number in the North American Numbering Plan Area (NANPA). If your international dialing prefix is 001, the country code begins with a 6. Either way I need up to two more digits and the country from which you are calling.

00 is not part of the country code, it is a commonly used international access prefix.

Country code +1 is North America (USA, Canada, and certain Caribbean/nearby islands).

Area code +1 647 is Toronto, Canada, in an overlay with +1 416.

(The plus sign means "insert your international access prefix here." From a GSM mobile phone, you can enter the number in full international format, starting with the plus sign. The most common prefix is 00, but North America (USA, Canada, etc.) uses 011, Japan uses 010, Australia uses 0011, and many other countries use different prefixes.)

00 = commonly used international access prefix, not part of the country code

+1 = country code for North America (USA, Canada, etc.)

646 = area code for Manhattan, New York City, USA

Alternatively,

001 = less common international access prefix

+64 = country code for New Zealand

6 = area code for part of the North Island

Because of the ambiguity of different access prefixes used in different parts of the world, it is best to quote an international telephone number without the access prefix, beginning with the country code prefixed only with a plus sign.

00 isn't part of the country code, it is a commonly used prefix for international calls.

Assuming that 00 is your international dialing prefix, then you're asking about country code +1 (North America, incl. USA, Canada, etc.), area code 347 (New York City, excluding Manhattan; i.e., Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, and Staten Island). 89 is the first two digits of the 7-digit subscriber number.

However, some places use 001 as the international dialing prefix, in which case you're asking about country code +34 (Spain), and 789 is the first three digits of the 9-digit subscriber number for a Spanish mobile phone.

To prevent this confusion, it is best to quote international telephone numbers without the dialing prefix, starting with the plus symbol and the country code.
