Clothes, just like they do in England, USA, Australia and elsewhere. Ppeople in Wales are just ordinary people, they do not wander around wearing a so-called national costume (which was a Victorian tourist invention anyway).

Women; red dress, check (often black and white) apron (not whole body), shawl of the same fabric, undershawl, often a dark red fabric, black bonnet (not a normal bonnet, impossible to describe), button boots.

Men; really not sure. Shirt, braces, trousers, flat cap I believe, but on St David's Day (which is basically the only time Welsh people wear stuff like this) most men wear Rugby shirts.

Welsh national costume was largely dreamed up by Lady Llanover (and to a lesser extent by Iolo Morgannwg) as a marketing ploy for the developing tourist industry in the Nineteenth Century.

Scottish National Dress is similarly bogus, if you examine it in close detail. But Welsh costume is boguser.

(Though Lady Llanover based her ideas on actual folk traditions).

A traditional outfit for women in Wales is a red cape and a tall black hat. Both men and women wear the hats, although there is no national dress for men.
