The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has about 65,000 missionaries serving worldwide. The Church allows single young men and women ages 18-25 and retired (married or single) men and women to serve missions.

About 55,000 Mormon missionaries are 'proselyting' missionaries, meaning their responsibilities focus on finding and teaching potential converts. They serve as a sort of travelling preacher. Proselyting missionaries serve for 18 months to two years, and spend only a few months in one area before moving to a new place. Most proselyting missionaries are young college-age men and women.

About 10,000 Mormon missionaries are 'humanitarian' missionaries, meaning their responsibilities focus on providing temporal care to the needy. They distribute food and clothing, provide medical care, build schools and wells, and care for orphans. They rarely, if ever, do any preaching and spend the entire length of their mission (6 months to 3 years) in the same location. Most humanitarian missionaries are older retired adults.

Did you know that Mormons market their religion through missionaries professing your religion to be false untrue and of the devil and their religion as the one true religion given to them by God?

Most religions believe that their religion is the only true religion. Mormon missionaries are trained to NOT condemn or attack other faiths, only to discuss their own. Mormon missionaries focus on what makes their religion true, rather than what makes other religions false. Mormons do not attack or condemn any other religion, believing that all religions have some truth and good that should be celebrated.

Are Mormons told not to have relationships?

Certainly not! Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) are encouraged to develop friendly relationships with everyone around them. Do you tip Mormon missionary for service work?

No. Mormons missionaries are full-time volunteers who are not paid, are not given a living stipend, but pay their own way entirely. In fact, Mormons consider it somewhat of a conflict of interest to have any paid clergy. As such, neither the missionaries nor the local Bishop nor anyone in the 14M-member hierarchy receives any money for what they do. In addition, Mormon missionaries are typically not allowed to accept cash gifts, so even if you tried to tip them they wouldn't accept. They can, however, accept gifts of food. If you feel you have to tip them, provide lunch or invite them for dinner.

What are things can be said about the Mormons?

Of course many things can be said about Mormons. Here are just a few: *"Mormons" are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. *There are over 14 million baptized Mormons around the world. *Mormons claim to be Christian because they believe that Jesus Christ is their Savior and that the Bible is the Word of God. However, they do not agree with many other traditional Christian doctrines and therefore do not consider themselves Catholic or Protestant. *Mormons come from all backgrounds, races, and cultures.
