What do you buy for a Harley Davidson bike lover you don't really know?

If you don't know this person very well than you wouldn't buy them anything as personal as "Rags" (leathers), boots, etc. It is very hard to buy for someone who has such a very defined interest in something because chances are that if there is something they really want they will have gone out and purchased it already.

I find that books make wonderful gifts. There are thousands of books, calenders, magazine subscriptions, etc. that are dedicated solely to the world of Harley Davidson Motorcycles. Also a gift card to the local bike shop might do. But the problem with that is that you feel pressured into getting a higher valued card than you would have spent on a regular present, because they'll know exactly how much you spent, so you feel obligated and that takes the fun out of gift giving. Besides as cool as gift cards are to kids, they are also much less personal. You don't know this person very well, so that's already awkward. Spare yourself and the Harley lover this.

Pick out a cool book about the history of the bike or a nifty calender showing hot bikes instead of hot babes. Get a book about the history of Sturgis. Every serious biker loves Sturgis. Also there are some great books out there on the role that the bike played in WWII.
