In addition to cleaning the cages, bathing and playing with the animals, you would also be feeding and watering them and giving them any needed medications. If you are working with the dogs, you would walk them (provided there is an area to do this at your shelter). Sometimes you might help with loading up/transporting/etc the animals to the Veterinarian for check ups, spay/neuters or to be euthanized. You would also be helping by doing "chores" such as sweeping, mopping, washing dishes, etc.
If you like animals, you would like MOST of the aspects of volunteering - and most shelters really need the help of caring volunteers.
a animal shelter
See if there is a veterinarian, animal shelter or hospital near you that allows volunteers
Try your local animal shelter.
Yes! I am a shelter volunteer. I would know. You always should contribute time for the animals.
First, you should visit the ASPCA, Humane Society, or any other animal shelter sites. You could go to an animal shelter and volunteer and/or adopt an animal.
Volunteer at the local search and rescue center or animal shelter
yes if you know how to treat a animals and if you can emagen what that animal is going through
You can volunteer at your local animal shelter ,vets office,or animal sanctuary. You can also start an animal rescue group.
Usually you have to start your own I'm 13 and no one will let me volunteer. So I just started my own no kill & no profit animal rescue and I rescue or pick up animals and sometimes I get donations to help pay for the animals food and supply.
Some you have to work there.. Some you can volunteer. Call your local animal shelter and see if they have a volunteer program.
