It depends what the age is. It's best for 'young age' to be around 15+
If you're about 12, 13 etc, you guys can just be friends. No point of having a relationship if it's not gonna be serious. Take time, and patience. Not all relationships have to be early. But if the case is.. he really likes you, ask him to go to a movie with a group of friends, or something so that way, you can talk, and not be alone..and that awkward silence wont happen. You two dont have to sit next to your group of friends. Just find your own area with the boy, and have fun! Don't stress out too much on dating just yet.
