Disable the passenger-size airbag.
If there is no way to disable the passenger airbag, the only safe thing is to belt them in the back seat -- which is safer, and required by law in most states anyway.
you can't the child must be 12 years and older in order to be in the passenger seat.
That depends on how old of a child. If the child is in a car seat or booster seat, then no. Studies and actual accidents have shown that children and infants can be beheaded in the front seat if airbags deploy. The child needs to be buckled in the back seat, center if possible.
Not unless you have a way to turn off the passenger side front airbags. Some pickup trucks have this feature (you use the key to turn the airbags off). If you cannot turn off/disable the airbags in your car, then you cannot put a car seat in the front seat. It would be very dangerous for the child!
It doesn't tend to be illegal (of course that varies by state/country) but in the event of a collision, the child would be much safer in the back seat than in the front. Under no circumstances should a child in a rear facing booster seat be placed in the front seat as if the airbags deploy, the child will probably be killed.
2 front airbags and ( if equipped ) 2 side airbags in the outside of the driver and front passenger seat backs
Weight and not size determines when they are able to ride in the front. One of the problems with front seats for a child is the front airbags. The airbags have hurt children because they are smaller and lighter in weight than an adult.
the legal height and weight is 4'10 and 92 pounds
According to the NYS DMV website, a child CAN sit in the front seat of a car, but its not safe. Especially with airbags in the car. Even check out the website!
it will kill them.
Four years old. However, studies show that there is significant risk of injury or death for those under 14 from front seat airbags.
The child, if she/he is under twelve years old (age may vary by state/region) and generally 4'9" in height (about 148 cm) then they should be in the back seat, regardless of airbags or not. The back seat is the safest place for a child since they are the most protected there.
no Only if the front airbag can be deactivated - this does not mean it is allowed in every state - some states have laws that mandate the child should be in the back seat until they weigh 85 lbs or are 14 years old -
