How do you bathe a horse?

To bathe a horse you must first soak him with water (make sure that you ONLY bathe him when it is warm outside!) Then you will poor a lot of equine approved horse soap on him, (you can find this at feed store for farm animals) If you can not get that soap baby soap will do, but horse soap is best, you can use a rubber curry comb , a handmitt, or a sponge , or just your hand! I prefer rubber curry comb because it tends to clean deeper, do not get soap in his eyes, do not spray water in his ears! .Once he is all soapy, rinse thoroughly , then use a water scraper to get off most of the access water , if you don't have one you can use some towels. He does not need to be perfectly dry , the extra water just needs to be off.Your horse probably only needs to be bathed every other month (remember only when it is WARM outside!!!), the rest of the time just groom him!Enjoy your horse, & I hope this helped!

Can you give a horse a bath in the winter?

Itall depends on the horse. some are more jumpier than others. you have to comfert them while doing it by saying good girl or boy easy your ok. and letting them know its ok and that they shouldn't be scared. If you are not experianced with horses don't do it by yourself and always have someone holding the horse while you are bathing it. you would have to wash them with warm water and they hate getting thir face wet

What grooming is required after removing the saddle from a horse?

once you have removed the saddle always brush around the area the saddle has been and under where the girth was. also do your horses feet to dislodge any stones and there legs if muddy. if your horse is very hot and it is a warm day throw some cold water over your horse then use a sweat scaper to remove any water leave your horse to dry outside then put a stable rug on them.

Do you need to use horse shampoo everyday?

No, if you use shampoo on a horse everyday it'll cause the horses skin to dry out and cause skin problems. It's best to shamppo a horse once every other week and just rinse the horse with water inbetween bathings.

When do you water and not water a Horse?

i not sure if u mean bathe or give water to drink.....a horse should ALWAYS have clean non frozen, chilled, not really really cold water to drink around them at ALL times. always...and alot of it too,,....if u mean get bathed....anytime theyre dirty but more more than 2c a week and only if its over 70 with no wind, or over 80 with minimal wind.....90+ doesnt matter how much wind its effin hot out. A horse that has just been strenuously worked (in other words they are lathered up) should be hand walked until their respiratory rate has approach normal and then offered cool to room temp water NEVER cold water. NEVER give a hot lathered heavy breathing horse cold water to drink-- you are asking for a their system (gut ) to be shocked and a possible case of colic. Horses that have been worked to a sweat can be sponged off and a wool cooler thrown over them to dry even if the temp is 45 degrees, just keep them in their stall tied up until they dry. Hosing a hose off is common sense-- if you have been working as hard as the horse has and you start at your feet with the water and it feesl OK then hose the horse down . Always start at the feet and work your way up and then work you way down again finishing with the fetlocks and pasterns. Use a sweat scraper or the back untoothed side of a shedding blade to whisk of excess water. If the air feel chilly after getting wet use that wool cooler and put the horse in its stall tied until it is dry. Always hang the coolers out to dry afterwards too! Only Shampoo when you absolutely have to-- like the beginning of a horse show or exhibit- other wise doing a good job brushing before riding or working the horse and hosing off afterward will keep its coat healthy and shiny with its natural oils.

Chickens don't need to be bathed unless they are in a show. If you do need to bathe it, try warm water with a gentle soap. That will be good enough for the chicken.
