'Coach' refers to the cabin you are in... i.e. the 'Economy' cabin, as opposed to 'Business Class' or 'First Class', which cost much more. A 'Restricted Coach Ticket' is virtually almost any ticket you buy. AA's fares are structured much the same as most airlines. You could buy a 'Full Fare Ticket', which has no restrictions at all (you can refund it anytime, and change the dates or times without any charge), but Full Fare Tickets are much, much more expensive. It is the highest fare possible in Economy Class. Anything lower than the full fare is defined as 'Discounted' or 'Restricted', and will usually be non-refundable, non-transferrable, and if you want to change the date or time, it will cost at least $150.00 (usually), and possibly some fare difference, depending on whether you are changing the outbound or the return, and if the outbound, then what the current fare is on the flight you are changing to. That sounds like a long answer. The short answer is, almost all tickets are called "Restricted". The rules for any given fare amount to pages upon pages of confusing information.
