Bás agus buaidh means 'Death and Victory' in Scottish Gaelic. I think this is incorrect;

it should be Buaidh no bàs. The motto of Clan MacDougall and Clan MacNeil of Scotland and means 'Victory or death'. Makes more sense too.

It's Scottish and it should read 'Bàs agus Buaidh', because 'bas' without the grav means 'palm' like the palm of your hand.

Quite right! The grave accent is missing from the William Wallace Memorial in Smithfield, London.

Without the grave accent over the "a" in "bas" it means "palm (of the hand) and victory", or "spoke (of a wheel) and victory".
