People from Turkey are called as Turks.
they hunt turkey
To "dig" was to like or enjoy. "Jive" was literally a dance style, but came to mean what ever was happening around you.
Jive turkey was a derogatory slang word in African American Vernacular English, used to refer to someone who was unreliable, made empty promises, or who was full of bluste…r. The insult became widely known among white Americans in the 1970s, particularly via television comedies (e.g., The Jeffersons). The term has been used by later television characters (e.g., Homer Simpson) in order to demonstrate that they are out of touch with modern youth trends, culture, and language. Jive turkey, however, was already falling into disuse when it was spoken by supposedly "hip" characters in the 1970s, such as George Jefferson, and later in 2008 by Cornelius Banks (Tim Meadows) in the movie "Semi-Pro." The humorous/interesting sound of the term has also resulted in it being use in complimentary fashion, often by those who don't know what it means and so make up their own meaning. The term has also been translated to mean a white person who can dance. Turkey, being white meat, represents the white person. Jive is a form of dance.
From UrbanDictionary.com: "A kind of walking or dancing that is like crumping in motion. This term was originally used in "Maniac Magee" but no one knew what it meant then. It…s the most gangster you can get without being gangster. Just bend, cross your arms, maybe snap your fingers, and keep walking."
dick means boys private ANSWER 2 normally means that you were being stupid, cocky, or senseless. not a good term.
Turks - The turkish,
Turkish people eat turkey but very rarely. Turkey meat is not as popular as red meat or chicken.
A turkey is called 'Hindi' in Turkish. But the name of the country is Türkiye in Turkish. You can find many turkeys in turkey but they are not from Turkey. The French call the…m "dinde" which translates as "from India". The Turks also thought they came from India and therefor (as noted above) called them "Hindi" (from India). The English thought they were called turkeys because they came from ships that traded with turkey. The first turkeys were introduced in the 16th century from Mexico where they were known as "guajolote" so it would seem, noone got it right
Its a polite way of telling someone they are a "goof ball" or a dummy.
I asked the two living Ink Spots and their Manager this question and they didn't know the answer. The best guess is that it is jive talk meaning a raw hamburger with a slice o…f onion. --------- My grandmother's best friend married an Inkspot member and she says it refers to an old new york tradition of putting half an onion and a raw egg into your coffee to make a breakfast-type dish/drink.
Well the expression "turkey" is the polite word to call someone who's either goofy or being a dummy!
In Animal Life
It means to be cool or to be "with the times"
The fact that the word "turkey" refers to both a country (Turkey) and a bird (turkey) in English is completely incidental. Turkey was not named after turkeys or vice versa. Tu…rkey is just the English version of the Turkish name Türkiye, literally meaning: Land of the Türk people.
