Generic drug driven means the plan probably offers a great deal on generic drugs, as opposed to brand name drugs. Some plans offer zero cost for generics up to a maximum of $15.00 for generics. Double check the plan to find out the coverage. Also, pay close attention to the coverage for brand names. If you absolutely must have a brand name as ordered by your doctor, or if there is simply no generic equivalent for the drug, some plans make you pay a deductible for the brand name before the cost is split by a percentage between you and the insurance company. Read the fine print.
