If anyone reports the matters to DHS (Department of Human Services) or CPS (Child Protective Services), and they choose to get involved, charges may be brought against the underage father or mother or both for Sex With a Minor. What is most often the case in the US is that charges are only brought against the male.

"Anyone" in this situation may be the girl or boy, the parents or guardians of the girl or boy, a friend of either, any other family member, the girl's doctor or any of the nursing staff, the hospital social worker, neighbors, strangers on the street, literally anyone.

Once the ball starts rolling, however, it typically continues. whomever is charged in the matter will face arrest, trial, conviction, sentencing, and some form of incarceration or conditional release, and will be required to register on the state SOR (Sex Offender Registry) for the proscribed period of time.

These laws vary from state to state. In Ohio, there is a four year age difference. Our age for consensual sex is age sixteen. But, the boy must be less than four years older than the girl. Example: so, if a sixteen year old girl has sex with a 19 yr old guy, then he can get arrested and charged for unlawful sexual contact with a minor. My seventeen yr. old daughter is currently pregnant from her nineteen year old boyfriend, so I cannot do anything to him for getting her pregnant. Now, if he was twenty-two years old, I could definitely have him charged.
