The Industrial Revolution put people out of jobs because machines were made that did the jobs once done by humans and/or animals. In the textile industry machines were eventually made to do the job of weaving cloths and other materials. This caused most people to move away to the city where jobs were available. All this is apart of progress people have made to improve jobs. Some of this is still effective today.
The American textile industry was in every sense a child of the British factory system. In 1790 Samuel Slater, a British mechanic, introduced the first successful American cotton-spinning mill in pawtucket, Rhode Island. This event transformed New England from an agricultural to an industrial region and led to such modern forms as the corporation, the separation of ownership and management, and the development of big business. The system's emphasis on the individual rather than family or community was a major shift in American society and came to characterize the new nation's industrial and social development. It also meant that the federal government would only encourage industry; the actual operation of mills would be left to individuals.

Britain's power in the Industrial Revolution changed because of textiles since textile manufacturing was a large part of Britain's economic growth during the Industrial Revolution.
Due to the development of new industrial technologies, Britain was able to build numerous new factories, among them those that made textiles. Since the output of goods like textiles started to increase, Britain was able to stimulate its economic and technological growth, leading to its relatively advanced technological state and powerful economic capability at the time.
Therefore, since textiles were one of the major industries that spurred the Industrial Revolution and brought on new advancements, Britain was able to harness that stimulus and become a more powerful nation.

During the American Industrial Revolution textiles were an emerging trade commers in the forming states. In the north, factories were being located there due to the incoming immigrants. These factories produced low paying jobs because the incoming migrants needed to support their families. In the south predominantly the farmers grew cotton and other crops, this cotton was transported to the north for processing. The mills were efficient in making textiles, however the working conditions were horrible to today's standards. (The machines made cloth more efficiently than by hand). The whole world had changed because of this(Clothes sewn faster.) The Industrial Revolution greatly increased the economies growth, but the Civil War followed shortly after.
