(Orthodox Jewish answer)
It is not permitted to accurately spell or pronounce God's name. The four letters Y, H, V, H (in Hebrew) were not handed down to us with the correct pronunciation (i.e. the exact vowels), because we are not on the requisite spiritual level of purity. "Yahweh", as it is often spelled in English, is an inaccurate approximation. We colloquially refer to God as "Hashem" (The Name); and in prayers as Adonai (My Lord).
(Catholic Answer)
The Catholic Church, following our older brothers in the faith, do not try to pronounce God's name, although in His Son, Our Blessed Lord, He has fully revealed Himself, and so we joyfully end our prayers through Jesus Christ, Our Lord.
