Here's the basics. Bella and Edward get married. They go on their honey moon and Bella gets pregnant. (The book switches to Jacob's point of view). The pack finds out that Bella is pregnant and decide they must take down the Cullens and kill Bella and the "baby". Jacob, Seth and Leah break away from the pack to go warn and defend the Cullens. Bella starts to drink blood for the "baby", drops a cup on the floor, bends over to get it and the placenta cracks. Edward delivers the "baby" girl and him and Bella decide to call her Renesmee. Bella is now practically dead. Edward injects his venom in her heart and she turns into a vampire. (The book switches back to Bella's point of view). Bella is now stunningly beautiful, strong, graceful and fast. While on her first hunt with Edward she comes across a human scent. Being a newborn and all her instincts should have kicked in and taken over but she resists the urge and runs away. This astounded everyone because she should not have that level of self control yet. Bella is aloud to see her daughter now, who is growing at an accelerated rate. She then learns that Jacob has imprinted on Renesmee and attacks him. Seth steps in and is mildly injured. The Volturi find out about Renesmee and decide they must destroy her and the Cullens. This is because they assume that the Cullens have produced a forbidden immortal child. Alice and Jasper leave the Cullens because they know they will die if they stay. The Cullens decide that the only way they can get The Volturi to stop and listen long enough to explain is to have people to vouch for them. Nomad, vegetarian, and clans of vampires arrive on the Cullen's land, after the family begins seeking out their friends to help with the Volturi. Nearly all take a liking to Renesemee and agree to bear witness to the Volturi that she is not an immortal child. Bella then finds out that she has a power. She can form a sort of bubble around people to protect them from some vampires powers. The Volturi arrive and after being proved wrong about Renesmee, decide that she might still be a threat for the future and attack. Bella secretly uses her power against Jane and Alec in particular. Just as it looks like the Cullens and their friends might lose, enter Alice and Jasper, with proof that other children like Renesmee exist. She brings one of these children from the Amazon, now an adult, and the Volturi are forced to withdraw. The book ends with everyone getting their happy ending. Bella and Edward have to come up with the story that they "adopted" Renesmee from his blood related brother, who tragically died". The book is very open ended, maybe leaving room for another book in the future?
