It depends on your interest and talent. Both are BS degrees, but CS is more technical than IT.

CS will deal heavily in math, science and physics as well has chip design, manufacturing, compiler and operating system design. Typical minors are math or electronics. Computer Science is more difficult than IT. that's the reality.

CS is more on theory, while IT is more on webpage.

IT is technical, but it more focused on business and management. Typical minors are business related.

What course gives a better job computer science or information technology?

That depends on what you mean by a 'better job.' The earning potential in both fields is high, the main difference being that information technology is the application of computer technology to the workplace, whereas computer science is the study of computer systems and interfaces. Large corporations have high demands for information technology, and often pay well. Research in computer science is happening at both the institutional level and the private level, and private industry rewards computer scientists very well, in most cases, due to the extensive educations they must have. Mathematics is the basis for much of computer science, and advanced math classes are essential in advancing in computer science. So, if you desire to work with people, helping them to do their jobs, then information technology is what you would like. If you are interested in building better computers, or making the ones that we have work better, then you would enjoy computer science. Which do you think would be better?

Information technology is better than computer science?

Information technology is in no way superior than computer science however, both disciplines are useful for different areas of computing. Those from an information technology background are not necessarily inferior to those from a computer science background although for development jobs like software development, computer science is more desirable. People from an information technology background and computer science background can both potentially land in the same occupations, having the same level of expertise in areas such as networking, databases, etc.

What is better coarse computer science or computer technology?

Is computer science better than information science?

It depends on your goals and interests. Computer science typically focuses more on programming, algorithms, and software development, while information science covers a broader range of topics including data management, information systems, and knowledge organization. Both fields have their own strengths and areas of application.

What type of degree would you go for if you want to be software developer?

You should go for B.Tech in either Computer Science or Information Technology. B.Tech from a good reputed college would help you to get a good career in software. As a software developer, Computer Science would be a better option than Information Technology.

Is it better to have an information technology or a computer engineering background if you want to pursue a computer science degree?

The foundation of computer science, engineering, or information technology is Math. Yes, Mathematics. The abstract algebra, the logic system, the binaries, the set theories, etc.. It won't hurt to have some management and financial courses / credits. Knowing and skillful in math will go a long way, especially in computer industry, hardware, firmware, or software.

What is difference between conputer science and it?

They are used interchangeably by many organizations, mainly because most assume they are the same. There is only one true difference. Computer Science would deal more with processes while Information Technology with delivering information. See below...Computer Sciencethe branch of engineering science that studies (with the aid of computers) computable processes and structuresInformation Technologythe branch of engineering that deals with the use of computers and telecommunications to retrieve and store and transmit information

What is the goal of science compared to technology?

Science and technology do not really have goals; they are simply a means of finding information about the world and universe, and applying it in ways to better our lives, respectively.

What is the difference between computer science information management and information technology?

A degree in computer science technology deals with advances and current state of the art in computer hardware and software. A degree in computer information systems deals with the implementation of computer technology. IT would expose you to networking, system administration, programming, etc. whereas computer science technology is mainly programming. The program that colleges offer could vary from college to college so make sure you look at the course description before applying. Some colleges offer computer science programs that are more career-oriented and you're more likely to find job openings in your specific field after completing these programs. Read BBB sites and make sure you review before applying.

What field is better computer science and information technology?

Its all can be depends on your capabilities on analytical skills, logical thinking and creativity. If you are really good enough in logical thinking, no doubt the Computer Science is the very good option for you. Similarly if you have good analytical thinking Information Technology is the best one to choose. Go ahead with your abilities to choose which one is the best to you. All the best Thanks, Venkata Arikati

What is the difference between CS and IT?

1. Computer Science is the science of computers while Information Technology may or may not use computers. Of course there is a big overlap but in general computer science handles the technical working of computers whilst IT is concerned more with information manipulation and the business requirements 2. I think that computer science is concerned with the principles and concepts that are behind the emergence of IT. In other words, CS is academic studying of the S/W and H/W concepts but IT may have specific purposes to be studied. 3. From a very broad perspective, Computer Science is the study of the principles of computing. It helps you better understand how computers solve problems, the kinds of problems that a computer can solve and how one would present a problem to a computer. Abstract ideas that rely on fundamental mathematical theories are at the heart of Computer Science. Information Technology is the study of technology that drives Information Systems for businesses. Understanding how technology/tools can best meet the Information management needs of an organization is at the heart of IT. 4. As a computer Scientist migrated towards Information Technology I can say that a computer science is the study of computer's design and operation. But Information Technology is the use of the computer for a specific purpose without knowing the details of how the computer is carrying on all these tasks. 5. First you have to understand the differences between science, engineering & technology. Science is a systematic & specialized way of thinking.A scientist thinks & makes principles & hypothesis. Engineering means the practical implementation of principles & hypothesis for the welfare of human beings with the help of machines. At first he makes drawings on the basis of principles, and then take it to real world for use. Technology always deals with OPTIMIZATION (MAXIMUM GAIN WITH MINIMUM EFFORTS)with the help of newer supports like computers & transfer machines. We use computers as a tool. The aim of IT is to make our information more profitable by making it recently & attractive 6. Computer Science is a part of IT. Computer Scientists are generally responsible of building the tools(OS, Compiler, Database...) used in IT, where as IT technicians are responsible of using these tools to make real world applications. 7. This question is very tricky and needs to be answered very carefully. The basic difference is that information technology is about transmitting information and gathering it, whereas computer science is something related to computers and only computer, such as software. IT people can be considered more of a general management subject 8. Computer Science refers to the science or details of computers - which includes the design of software (such as compilers, Operating Systems), design of hardware (such as RAM, CPU etc), networking etc. Information Technology is the application of Computers towards organizing and efficient retrieval/reporting of information. A useful, if somewhat crude analogy could be the difference between "heat, cold, humidity, water "etc (which is like computer science) and Meteorology (which uses the information about cloud, humididy etc to predict weather)
