All horses no matter what breed they are require the same things! The base of the diet should be forages such as grass and hay or haylage, Then if the horse requires extra energy/calories, you can add a formulated equine pellet. Sweet feeds are not recommended for horses nowadays as they can cause a myriad of health problems.
The Friesian came originally from Friesland, in the Netherlands. It's build resembles that of a light draft horse, however, they are still quite agile and swift. The ancestors of the Friesian were in high demand to become war horses (for continental Europe) in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. This was probably because of their strong, sturdy muscles which enabled them to carry a knight wearing heavy armor.
Growing in numbers and popularity, the Friesian is stillin high demand. It's glossy black coat compliments it's beautiful streaming mane and tail, and it is said to be one of the most beautiful horse breeds. It has been introduced to a wide field of dressage, and with that gorgeous coat, I can see it winning a dressage competition!
