Nougat is a treat made with sugar and/or honey, roasted almonds, walnuts, pistachios,hazelnuts, macadamia and other nuts, whipped egg whites, and sometimes chopped, candied fruit. The consistency of nougat can vary from soft and chewy to hard and crunchy and it's used in a many candy bars and chocolates. It originally came from Italy.
