Queen Elizabeth and Akbar the Great both had very troubled youths and were raised in a religiously divided family. Queen Elizabeth was mothered by Anne Boleyn who was declared a traitor and beheaded thus making Elizabeth a bastard child. Elizabeth was then raised by her step mother and grew up with her step siblings, Her sister Mary (Bloody Mary) was a devote catholic while Elizabeth was a protestant. Mary tried to convert England back to Catholicism by force and even imprisoned her Protestant sister. Akbar's mother was Shiite muslim while his father was a sunni muslim but his tutor was a Hindu and taught him universal peace which encouraged tolerance of all religions. Both rulers are known throughout history for their tolerant religious policies and their high military power and influence.
