atoms are held together bye positively charged particles (protons) and negatively sharged particles(electrons) and another elementary particle called the nuetron.

The nucleus of an atom consists of protons, and neutrons and the shell outside of the nucleus consists of electrons.what holds the protons together (since they are pulled together even though they have the same charge and the nuetrons are not charged at all) is another particle called a muon which holds the protons in place. And since electrons in the outer shell are all negativley charged they are all evenly spaced out in the shell.

attraction between the nuclei

What is the attraction of two atoms for a shared pair of electrons that holds the atoms together.?

Sharing of electrons between two atoms is called covalent bonding.

The electrical attraction between the nuclei and the valence electrons of different atoms that binds the atoms together?

That attraction is described mathematically by Coulomb's Law.

What type of bond holds the atoms together in chemical properties of iron?

The type of bond that holds the atoms together in iron is called metallic bonding. Metallic bonds are formed by the delocalization of electrons between metal atoms, creating a "sea" of electrons that holds the atoms together. This gives metals their unique properties, such as conductivity and malleability.

Why are atoms and compounds held together?

The atoms in compounds are held together by chemical bonds

What are two types of chemical bonds?

The first type of bond is a Covalent Bond. That bond forms when electrons are shared. and the second type of bond is Ionic bond, which is an electrical attraction between two oppositely charged atoms or groups of atoms called ions.

What is the attraction that holds 2 covalently bonded atoms together?

Covalent Bond. A form of chemical bonding that is characterized by the sharing of pairs of electrons between atoms

What is it called when atoms are bounded together by sharing electrons rather than by electrical attraction?

This is known as a "covalent bond," since the atoms share a pair of valence electrons.
