An allusion is a reference to something not Implicitly stated, something that the reader (or hearer) is expected to know about.

Don't act like a Romeo in front of my sister. (You're expected to know who Romeo and Juliet are)

You sound like my ex-husband. (You're expected to know what her ex-husband sounds like)
