clutchs in tranny are going bad, bye a new or remanufactured tranny to put in it, it is better than haveing it rebuilt It could also be the spring on the throttle valve being broken or installed in corectly. It is mounted on the side of trans. follow the cable from throttle body to transmission the spring should pull on the lever away from throttle body. ot he cable is not ajusted properly. look for ajustments for the tv "throttle valve"cable.
No, the 1994 has a hydraulic governor while the 1996 has an electronic governor.
did you check the speedometer gear in the tranny?
It controls the transmission shifts. It controls the transmission shifts.
`Tis on the passenger side where the engine and tranny do meet.
Try changing you oil and if that does not help you will need to rebuild the tranny or replace it.
No, the 1988 uses a AW4 trans. The 1996 Grand uses a 42re trans.
Check level of transmission fluid Change transmission fluid and filter
An Aisin/Warner AW4. Made by Toyota. Variants of this tranny are used in Landcruisers, Lexus, Supras.
yes it does but i do not know where it goes to, i have a 98 and my vacuum line came off and is still connnected to the tranny
it should be downshifting AS you stop not after. plugged filter is possible but not probable, sounds like the tranny needs major service.
Sounds like the transmission pressure sensor is bad or usually the wire breaks off and it will cause this
I'm not a mechanic but I had a problem with my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee lift gate not closing properly, seemed to move to the sound causing a noise. I replaced the lift shocks and the problem disapeared
