What is ethical use of technology?

You can find yourself doing things you would naturally find being ethical but in reality it not being. Could be just as little as how to handle a client, fact of the matter is chances are you'll have to be selling yourself to GET the job in the first place, or to future clients. Having a well rounded education does a lot to the soul, and career :)

Ethics allow us to decide whether or not we should innovate and invent certain technologies or not. The tools themselves are amoral and lifeless but they represent the ethics of the person who created them. It starts to become extremely tricky when you get into the specifics like the nuclear bomb. Should we have created such a powerful weapon? Was it right? Some would say no because it killed hundreds of thousands of people but some say yes because it was necessary to end WW2 without invading Japan and losing millions of Americans and Japanese lives.

Overall conclusion: Ethics tell us whether or not to invent a certain technology or advance it.

Ethics in technology is a subfield of ethics addressing the ethical questions specific to the Technology Age. Some prominent works of philosopher Hans Jonas are devoted to ethics of technology. It is often held that technology itself is incapable of possessing moral or ethical qualities, since technology is merely tool making. But many now believe that each piece of technology is endowed with and radiating ethical commitments all the time, given to it by those that made it, and those that decided how it must be made and used.
