The definition of advertising is the profession or activity of producing advertisements for commercial services or products. It is calling public attention to a service, need, or product, usually with paid announcements in print, on television, or on the radio.
An advertisement (ad) is, for instance, a dramatized commercial that is trying to get you to buy something, convince you that their product is good. For example, a Febreze air freshener commercial. they are dramatizing the fact that it really smells sooooooo good. They are attempting to draw you in, to make you think that their product is really good, when it could actually not be very good at all. Of course, I am not saying that Febreze brand is bad, I actually quite like it. I was merely making an example.
Advertisement is a term used to describe an announcement that is meant for the public. These announcements are used to educate the general public about an event or certain products that they might want.
All advertising is creative, so that's a kind of double double.
