Clams are considered hermaphrodites. They are born as males and as the mature become females until full adulthood. The female lays thousands of eggs and the males come by and fertilize the eggs.
Behavior
All living things can respond to stimuli, but they may not "feel" in the way we do.
No each part has its own role in the plant.
They can reproduce in a sort of way and respond to stimuli.
It means that if you apply a stimulus to an organism, it will respond in some way.
it is the biome in which organisms live . or its either the way organisms respond to stimuli .
If you put light in an animal's eye it will react by shutting it's eyes, covering it's eyes or in any other way it would usually respond.
it swims out of the way, swims to different elevations, communicates with others
It's just a way of saying that a neuron (or sensory cell) can either (only) respond or not respond (depending on the strength of the stimuli). Which is why your nervous system is said to be pulse modulated rather than amplitude modulated. OR A strong stimuli results in more pulses, not stronger pulses.
When a Stingray reacts to stimulus it discharges stinging cells. The stinging cells penetrate the skin and inject a poisonous venom.
If you had no reflexes, your body would not repond. It is one way medical professionals check for brain death. If they take away the oxygen by discontinuing the ventilator, will the patient reflexively breathe?
