AnswerA monitors response time is a measurement that is used to describe the timing it take for the screen to refresh itself and realign pixels to a screen change. It is mostly measured in ms. or MILISECONDS, or millionths of a second. The smaller the measurement, the faster the screen refreshes. This is a big concern on screens such as LCD which can show GHOSTING or blurring of fast moving images on the screen. This is common in games and movies. The lower the number, the sharper the image will look while in motion and the less ghosting. The common speeds of response times are 16ms 12ms 8ms 5ms and sometimes lower in good displays. For an LCD a 16ms is ok, but going with an 8 or faster is much more preferable for gaming as your eyes will definitely notice the difference. If you are doing 2D work and static image work such as internet browsing and that is all, a speed such as 16ms will be just fine.
