That it was probably the earliest Christian Church in the West and was brought here by S.Simen Zelotes, the Brother of Christ. Its main feature is that antiquity she is so proud of and was a player in during the formative years after Christ being present at the Ecumenical Councils and Synods. That in the early years she was a free and independent spirit keeping her freedom from heresy and strife against all comers and after all the hiccups and deviations shared by other branches of the Catholic Church she has kept the Faith once revealed by Christ to the Saints being still an orthodox Western Church!

The Church of England is a Protestant church which came into being in 1534 when King Henry VIII reformed the church and cut all ties with the Catholic Church. The Church does not answer to Rome in any way. Although Henry did not formally repudiate the doctrines of the Church of Rome he made himself supreme head of the Church of England.

Henry followed up this act by selling off the land owned by Catholic monasteries and demolishing the buildings in 1536.

The Church of England was founded by Elizabeth I's father, Henry the VIII. However after his death, his son Edward and then daughter Mary took the throne, during which time England was pronounced "Catholic" again.

When Elizabeth I took the throne she reinstated her father's church.
