That is College Admissions Tests sponsored by the College Entrance Examination Board: the SAT I measures mathematical and verbal reasoning skills, and the SAT II measures knowledge in specific subject areas. It is divided into three sections. In the essay portion, you are given a situation, and asked to state your opinion on the matter. in the Critical Reading section, you are given a passage with a set of questions that may ask you to infer, or find the main idea of the reading. it also contains a series of sentence completion questions that will test your vocabulary. Finally, the Math section only tests basic Algebra, Algebra 2, and Geometry questions.

The SAT is a standardized test that is required for admission to many colleges and universities in the United States. Formerly known as the Scholastic Aptitude Test, and later the Scholastic Assessment Test, the SAT currently does not stand for any particular title. It is owned and developed by a non-profit group, the College Board, and administered and scored by the Educational Testing Service. It is typically taken by high school seniors who are planning on applying to a college or university. The fee for the exam in currently approximately $50, and there are numerous books and study course available to prepare for the test.

There is a growing movement that feels the SAT is irrelevant in its current form in predicting future academic success, and should be scrapped or heavily revised. This is controversial, and most institutions still require the test for admission.
