Western education refers to the system of education that is commonly practiced in Western countries, characterized by a focus on critical thinking, individualism, and the pursuit of knowledge in a wide range of subjects. It emphasizes the importance of formal schooling, structured curriculum, and academic achievement.
Western education in Nigeria brought about loss of our indigenous education. Many Nigerians now imitate the Westerns in way of life and in the cause of that gradually deviating from the culture which has been in existence since the era of the fore-fathers. The prevalence of the Western education in Nigeria has led to the loss of our indigenous languages, mode of dressing, cultural activities. Moral behaviors inconcated into us by our parents have been affected negatively as a result of the prevalence of Western education, imagine a young boy chat with a girl in the presence of his parents, speak to his parents in foreign language .
