For the past six months, I have stuck to a low sugar diet and so far have lost 35 pounds. In the first two weeks I lost 6 pounds, and 25 pounds in just 8 weeks.
It has been steadily dropping since then.
Understanding what foods contain "bad" sugars is tricky, but well worth the effort and doing a bit of research on.
Just getting your sugar intake down and keeping an eye on your calories will do wonders for weight loss.
Cut down your daily sugar intake.
While not too easy to do in the first few weeks, once you get better at understanding how sugar (more specifically Fructose) works in our body, and where this toxic substance is found (in almost all processed foods and naturally in sugar as we know it) so you can avoid it.
It is easy one you get started, and you will be blown away with the results.
Good luck.
If you stop eating, to lose weight quickly, it is not only unhealthy but any weight lost returns as you start eating again (and often more weight than than you lost).
Therefore, the only real way to lose weight in a healthy and reasonably quick way is to eat healthy and in particular cut out, or strictly limit, refined (processed) carbohydrates (they are a major cause of weight gain, obesity, and many diet related diseases). For a list of refined (processed) carbohydrates, see the related question and answer, further down this page, listed under Related Questions.
In addition, do regular cardio exercise, such as brisk walking, running, jogging, etc., lift weights if you can, and drink plenty of water. Cardio exercise is an excellent fat burner.
Also, avoid deep fried foods and soft drinks. By being really committed to your goal, you are certain to lose weight. You will then feel great and look better. Never starve yourself to lose weight. It is dangerous, can cause medical problems, and in fact slow down your weight loss.
A perfect diet plan is:
Breakfast - 1 cup of all bran with skimmed milk. Cup of green tea.
Snack - Green tea
Lunch- 3 pieces of crackerbread with a skim of light cream cheese and a piece of smoked salmon on each. 1 small apple. Drink a pint of water after your meal.
Snack- 3 strawberrys and 6 raspberrys.
Dinner - Grilled chicken/ Fish with broccali and runner beans. I advise adding chilli and herbs to make it more exciting. If its summer, you may want to have a green salad and a roasted pepper instead of the broccali and beans!
Pint of water after dinner.
I did this and lost 20lbs in 6 weeks. Also include 45mins cardio a day. Preferably before breakfast. If you need something to eat before your workout, have a lowfat yogurt (no more than 80 cals a pot)
Follow this excercise routine
Day 1 - Stairclimbing - Minimum 50 floors every alternate day (take alternate steps)
Day 2 - Pushups - 8 sets of 25 each
Day 3 - Crunches - 8 sets of 25 each
The diet
Eat & stuff youself with Fruits on day 1-3-5 of every week so u never feel hungry
Fruits have negative calories so the more you eat the more you burn - avoid chickoo & banana
DO NOT EAT ANYTHING ATLEAST 3 HOURS BEFORE YOU SLEEP - DRINK 2 BOTTLES OF WATER IF YOU WANT TO KILL THE URGE TO EAT ANYTHING BEFORE YOU SLEEP
If you have to consume alcohol ... drink only McDowells Diet Mate whiskey - It helps with weight loss..
