Some of the best canned foods would be ones that have a high meat content (labelled as Chicken, Turkey, Tuna, etc.) as the FIRST ingredient and free of corns/grains. "Cheap" store brands will only have "Meat Derivatives/By-Products" as the first ingredient (this is the leftover bits of an animal such as feet, fur, feathers, lungs, intestines etc.), which results in poor quality food and extremely low nutritional value.
Stay away from lower-quality brands, as these foods are often packed with carbohydrates - "filler" in the way of corns and grains, none of which cats can digest. Grain is used instead of meat because it is cheaper to produce.
For high-quality cat food there is: Blue Buffalo, Felidae, Weruva, California Natural, Instinct, Prairie, Natural Balance, Eagle Pack, Wellness, EVO, Bozita (the canned stuff is 90+% meat and can be bought from zooplus.co.uk), Applaws (70+% meat and comes in both tinned and dry), HiLife (60% meat), Feline Fayre, to name a few.
The best canned dog food depends on how much you want to spend and where you shop. Some highly recommended brands are Wellness, Blue Buffalo, Pro Plan Selects and Natural Balance. If you are not sure, it is best to check the ingredients for high quality protein sources (protein from meat sources).
Kozy kitten canned cat food is no longer manufactured anymore. There are plenty of alternative canned cat foods that can be purchased in Florida and elsewhere.
