BEST HARDWOOF FLOORING TYPE?
Sorry but this is a really poorly stated question.
Best is An opinion and without knowing what your needs & wants & expectations are, someone is likely to try & sell you something they want to sell than what you need & want.
Let's try it this way.
You ask your self these questions first;
· How long you going to be in the house?
· Do you care if it adds to the value of the house or is esthetics all that matters?
· What kind of look do you want?
o Casual or sophisticated, high gloss or low,
o Light colors or dark
o Knots & mineral lines or clear wood?
o long boards or short
· Does an environmental angle matter to you or do you just want price?
· What is your budget?
Kids or adults?
· What's it going with? Furniture, cabinets? Stairs?
· Upstairs or down, or basement? Wood subfloor or concrete?
· Prefinished or finish on site?
· New construction or replacement??
· Is a 100 year warranty important or can you see through the Hype?
· Domestic production or imported? Never been a claim on formaldehyde or lead in finishes on a domestic source, just want to think about that.
All these & a dozen more will add or remove options for your consideration. I love the casual look & practicality of a nice hand scraped engineered hardwood and wouldn't have solid wood in my house. Others will violently differ but I'm sure they have the right to be wrong. LOL!
