The instructions that come with it are awful, and none of the codes worked. The only way I could get my the codes for my devices was to turn on only the selected device (TV, Cable) press the code search button til the red light came on, then press the appropriate button once (TV, Cable, etc) then press the power button on the Really Big Remote again and again with a few seconds in between until the device turns off. Immediately press the ENTER button on the Really Big Remote. IF you caught the code, it will now turn the device on and off. If you didn't, try it again, pressing the power button with more seconds in between, so you are sure which press of the button turned it off. I can now turn all devices off and on, and switch channels and lower/raise volume. Still can't access the cable menu though.
I have the manual from my universal remote. It lists codes for Philips as 062, 004, 075, 008, 019, 003, 012, 068, 069, 076, 086, 087, 088 I always assumed that those codes worked for any remote; but I am not positive on that.
Page 21 of the product manual lists some but the Cox Motorla model is not listed.

If the remote that needs to be replaced is the one that came with your cable box then you can go to your local cable office, take your old one with you and exchange it for a new one. Your other option is to purchase a universal remote that would work on all of your set-up. This is what you will have to do if the remote that has gone bad is the remote to your television or dvd player. You may have to call your cable company after you pick up the remote and have them help you program it so that it will work on all the electronics.
Look up the remote code at http://www.dynexproducts.com/universalcontrolcodes.aspx Dynex is a subsidiary of best buy. Use Emerson codes instead.
You can always use a store-bought remote control, but you may lose some features of the cable remote.
