It depends on where you live. On the coast its a mild temperature in the fall and spring. In the Summer it is HOT! In the winter its cool. The desert region of California its pretty much always warm in the day and cold in the night. In the Sierra Nevada mountains, it is cold. In the Central Valley it is hot and humid.
California has falls in several different climate designation. Along the coast, west of the Sierra mountain range, California has a maritime climate. This means that the climate is regulated by the ocean, which results in temperatures between about 50 and 75 degrees year round.
East of the Seirras, California has a continential climate. Temperatures are much higher as this area falls in a desert resulting from the mountain's rainshadow. Continental climates generally have much higher annual and diurnal (daily) temperature fluxtuations.
Depends on where you are in the state. The northen part of the state along the coast and stays pretty cool with some fog. Central CA can be very hot in the summers and cold foggy in the winters. Southern CA usually is about 75 to 80 degrees, but can reach into the 90's. The worse part is the air quality. When high pressure is over the state it acts like a lid and add the fires, smog to the mix and the air gets bad. We have bad air warnings.
The weather is nice and sunny...all year round. No rain, no clouds.
Temperate. relatively mild year round.
Aside from being stereotyped as "mild" compared to the rest of the country, if you are planning to dress comfortably in California, you should know that the temp patterns are highly governed by your proximity to the Ocean. My rule of thumb for southern Cal is to take the coastal weather and add about 1 degree for every mile you go inland, until you've added about 20 then it stabilized until you get to the desserts or mountains at which point its hotter in the summer and colder in the winter. But if you hit a major hill within that 20 miles, all bets are off, its plain hot at the foothills and valleys. For northern Cal, it changes much more gradually as you go from coast to inland.
CA doesn't have one climate. It varies depending on the part of the state. Southern CA ranges about 75 to 90 degrees and gets some very strong winds. Central CA is very hot in the summer and can range from 99 to 105 in the summer yet in the winter it can freeze and have days of heavy fog. The northern part of the state is cool and coastal. In the summers it quite nice compared to the Central Valley .
I think that most of the time California's Coastal Region is hot, moist air, and has a lot of earthquakes!
