Depends on the operating system...
In Windows (with a command prompt open and the current directory is this data folder): del a*.txt
The del command is used to delete files and takes an argument containing the name of the file. Wildcards, such as * (denotes "any number of characters"), are used to take action on any items in the folder that meet the requirements. You can think of a*.txt as meaning "starts with an a followed by any number of characters, and ending with a period and the extension 'txt'."
DEL A:\data\ A*.txt
It's a wildcard which means any single character. For instance: > dir ???.txt This will list all 3-letter file names that have a .txt extension in the current folder. An asterisk can also be used as a wildcard and represents any group of characters. > dir *.txt This will list all file names that have a .txt extension in the current folder.
There is no keyboard shortcut key to delete a column, nor is there any special command. The quickest way to delete the contents of a column is to click on the letter at the top of the column you want to delete and press the Del key.
WindowsKey+R type cmd type del C:\Recycler type exit NOTE: if the drive containing the OS is not C: then substitute that letter
Its a wildcard for one character. (Example): if you want to find files in the directory that start with A & have a three letter file extension, you would use: a*.???
When writing a letter for an extension on a demand draft, it is important to write the reason an extension is needed. It is also important to state how long the extension is needed.
A C prompt is when you go to the Start Menu and go to Run or the search bar and enter Command. From there, a black screen will pop up with the drive letter and the current folder/path.
