A King Charles Spaniel is a little stockier with a bit more of a pug nose and a flatter head. They tend to have a few more facial freckles than Cavaliers. My understanding is that the two started out as the same breed. Eventually the breed had developed some characteristics that some people didn't like (these ones are now known as King Charles), and they began trying to breed them back to the original. These "back to the original" are what are now called Cavalier King Charles.

a "king Charles" is a king that ruled England, and a cavalier king Charles SPANIEL is a dog, lol i think the guy above is right
Absolutely not. They are two different breeds and, unfortunately, are commonly mistaken for the same breed. Be careful when attempting to buy either one, because some breeders will sell you the wrong breed. Some breeders are so ignorant that they have mistakenly cross-bred a cavalier and a non-cavalier, resulting in a hybrid mongrel, and calling them pedigrees, when they in fact are not.
King Charles Spaniels were the first of the spaniel type to exist, originating from the 16th century and named after a British monarch who is famous for keeping them. These types were slightly aggressive and bred for hunting. They would chase small animals and use their teeth to rip open the throat of the creature, then carry it back to their master.
The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is not aggressive and was bred as a lapdog and a showdog. They will rarely chase other animals, if they do it is out of curiosity rather than aggression.
The King Charles Spaniel has a short face, almost pug-like. The short face allows them to easily use their teeth to shred a small animal to death.
The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel has a long face, with a jaw that is very unsuitable for tearing at flesh.

If you are choosing to buy a 'Charles' breed of spaniel, then which breed suits you is down to where you plan to live and who with. If you live in a countryside then a King Charles Spaniel will be ideal for you, as it can keep you company while naturally hunting pests such as mice and rabbits. Due to their aggression, they are not the best breed to have in a city mixing with rival dogs and neighbouring cats.
If you live in an urban area, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel will suit you. It will keep you company and greet your visitors in a very friendly manner. They are not aggressive so they are not a problem with other dogs or local cats.
If you have children, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel will probably be safer for them. Although both breeds love children, the non-Cavalier breed still has a short temper, while the Cavalier breed will stay calm and simply walk away if it gets bored of the children.
No. The Caviler King Charles is a smaller breed of dog with a shorter nose. Although they look similar, they are different breeds.
Yes!
Charles I was the King of Spain from 1516 until he abdicated in 1556. At the same time Charles I was King of Spain he was also Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor. It was the same man with two titles. He was also King of the Romans, King of Italy, Duke of Burgundy, Lord of the Netherlands and Count Palatine of Burgundy.
They both shed about the same cause the king Charles is like a minature cocker spainel.
It is some years later, and standards have been relaxed.
course not! you can have different breeds! but if you want to have a puppy they must be the same breed but not the same color..
no you wont get a rare breed you will get the same breed but in a different colour ;D
yes.
No, a dog that is a toy breed has to reproduce with a dog of the same breed. This means that they will produce the same breed of dog. And not a dog out of the toy column.
The English toy spaniels are different then the Cavalier king Charles spaniel. I personally have a cavalier and think they are much prettier and magestic, but that's just me. The main difference between the two breeds is that the English toy spaniels has a pug like mussle. The English toy spaniel are also known as the king Charles spaniel (not too be confused with the Cavalier king Charles spaniel).Try Google that should help you to.
All variations of king snakes are approximately the same size: from 3-5 ft when full grown. Very few king snakes grow beyond 5 ft.

King Charles I of England granted all the land between Virginia and Spanish Florida to Sir Robert Heath in 1629. Heath never developed the land which he called Carolana, so King Charles II granted the same territory, with its name changed to Carolina, to eight noblemen who became the lords proprietors of the region in 1663.
