Rebellion is an action used to overthrow a government or institution. Resistance is merely an oppostion to somebody or something, or a refusal to comply or cooperate. You may form a resistance by having a few people agree not to follow a certain rule issued by an authoritive figure; say your coach telling you to do 100 push-ups every time you arrive late for practice. But when you choose to force this individual to back off with violence, that is a rebellion. This of course is a very small scale rebellion or resistance, but nonetheless, it is what it is.

Rebellion typically involves a more aggressive and open defiance against authority, often seeking to overthrow or challenge the existing system. Resistance, on the other hand, is usually a more subtle and strategic form of opposition that aims to challenge unfair practices or policies without necessarily seeking to completely overthrow the system.

What is the difference between a rebellion and a resistance?

a rebellion is when a group of people wants to overthrow a person in power or a higher authority by force, it involves violence. a resistance, on the other hand, can be more passive. it's when a group of people are against a rule or law and they refuse to follow it (for example: a law says you can't sit on the floor, and you and your friends decide to sit on the floor). in most cases you can look at it like this: in a rebellion, the rebels are the aggressors. in resistance, the resistors are the aggressed.
