The art of dreaming (control over your dream-state) takes practice in visualizing something that is calming and soothing to that particular individual. It could be walking or running through a meadow of flowers with blue sky and white clouds and hearing birds singing everywhere .. it's peaceful. Another person may visualize flying and soaring through the air like a bird and feeling free. If one concentrates on scenes such as this then they can actually dream about it.
Vivid dreams (uncontrolled) are dreams that are so vivid they seem real and you may even question yourself as to whether it happened or not. They even may have dreamt someone close to them made a statement in a wakening state that they did not. These dreams are remembered within seconds of waking. Time is like space and what seems like a long dream can merely be seconds.
